hello, this is apanuba.
Combining my interests in writing, art, journalism, as well as visual and digital media has led me to the Media Studies program at University of British Columbia. Fueled by my passion for humanitarian and social justice issues, decolonization + post-colonial identity, and transnational feminist and environmental movements, I strive for unabridged self-expression and critical storytelling in a world that is increasingly dependent on technology. I am eager to build on my academic foundations on Communications and New Media Journalism while incorporating digital media and design into the mix.
Working for renowned literary and business magazines, non-profit organizations, and administrative positions in various sectors over the years, I have utilized my passion and determination while always looking for a challenge. I find creativity, honesty, and collaboration to be valuable traits in all parts of life, and hope to leave a significant mark in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
I grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, spent a year in Springfield, VA, and am currently living in Vancouver. Beyond the digital footprint, I enjoy traveling, reading books that belonged to my grandmother, photography, and being a plant mom. I can be reached at puhama98@gmail.com and my socials for a chat over coffee!
